No. Finstracker never asks for bank credentials and never connects to Plaid or any aggregator. You add transactions by hand or by importing a CSV from any spreadsheet you already keep.

When you add a perk with a period of monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual, Finstracker auto-expands it into 12, 4, or 2 dated rows respectively. Each row gets a month or quarter suffix in the title and an end-of-period deadline. The Amex Platinum December Uber Cash row is auto-boosted to $35 because the catalog tracks that special case.

The first time you open the app in a new calendar year, Finstracker rolls last year's recurring perk templates forward into the new year. It's idempotent (running it twice does nothing extra) and gated per browser, so it only fires once per (user, year).

Each card with a bonus stores spendRequired, currentSpend, bonusAmount, and deadline. As you log spend toward the bonus, progress updates automatically and the card flips to completed when you cross the threshold. Applying the bonus credits an earn transaction in the bonus's unit (points or cash).

Yes. Editing a transaction reverses the old card-balance delta and applies the new one. If the edit would push the card balance negative, the API rejects it with a 400.

You can paste CSV text directly into the import modal or pick a file. The export format is exactly what import accepts, so a full round-trip backup and restore works with no spreadsheet edits in between.

Your password is hashed with bcrypt (12 rounds) before it touches disk. The plain password is never logged or stored. Auth uses JWT bearer tokens with a 7-day lifetime.

The layout responds down to 375px wide. There's no native app yet. It's a web app you can pin to your home screen.

Finstracker respects your OS prefers-color-scheme setting and applies the right palette before first paint, so the page never flashes the wrong colors. A user-toggleable auto/light/dark switch is on the roadmap.

Yes, from Settings. Account deletion cascades to every card, transaction, and perk you owned. Export your data to CSV first if you want a copy.
